Thanksgiving Blessing

May The LORD Bless and Keep You!

May The LORD make HIS face to shine upon you and give you Peace!

We give Thanks and Praise and Worship to GOD for His unspeakable gift and for all that He has done!

A Special Prayer Blessing upon all of you from all of us!

True Thanksgiving

Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!

Psalm 107:1

  Separated from friends, unjustly accused, brutally treated... if any man had a right to complain it was this man, languishing almost forgotten in a cruel Roman prison. But instead of complaints, his lips rang with words of praise and thanksgiving!

This was the apostle Paul... a man who had learned the meaning of true thanksgiving, even in the midst of great adversity. Look carefully at what he wroteduring that prison experience: "Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to god the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Eph 5:19

Think of it! "Always giving thanks... for everything" no matter the circumstances. His guards and fellow prisoners must have thought him crazy......but that didn't stop him. Thanksgiving for Paul was not a once-a-year celebration, but a daily reality that made him a joyful person in every situation. May that be true of us.

I've tried counting my blessings.
But, I can't count them all.
It's like trying to count
All the leaves in the fall.

It's like trying to count
All the stars in the sky.
Lord, you've blessed me so much.
But, I'm willing to try.

I can see.  I can feel.
I can walk.  I can touch
And, for all of these things,
Lord, I thank you so much.

I'm not hungry or thirsty.
I have a warm loving place
And I know it's because
Of your unselfish Grace.  

There are so many things,
Lord, To be thankful for.
But, my spiritual blessings,
You know, mean so much more.  

I need to thank you most,
Lord, Least I forget.
When your son died for us,
That was the best blessing yet.  

So, on this Thanksgiving Day, Lord,
You deserve lasting praise
And I thank you so much
For these Blessings you gave.

The Key to Giving Thanks

1 Thessalonians 5:18

No matter what happens, always be thankful, for this is God's will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

If you, like most people, enjoy those Scriptures that tell you exactly how to live out a particular command, you may have a little problem with 1 Thessalonians 5:18.  It seems to ask the impossible!  How are we supposed to give thanks “always”?  Why couldn’t the apostle Paul have said, “Just give thanks” or “Give thanks most of the time”?  

We don’t struggle with thanking God for the good things.  One night, we may pray, “Oh God, thank you so much for what You gave me today!” But the next day, something bad happens, and we end the evening praying, “Oh God, why?  Why did You allow this?” It is easy to thank God for a new job, but difficult to praise Him when we lose it.  Being grateful to God is easy when our children are obedient, but nearly impossible when they run wild!  Because of our human nature, our gratitude increases in the good times and wanes in the bad.  The challenge, then, is to learn how to operate in our spiritual rather than our human nature.  

You see, when we praise God even during the hard times, two important things happen within us.  First, we are reminded of His enduring presence in our lives.  Second, we are reminded of the complete dependence upon Him that should characterize our lives.  Praising Him in times of trouble requires a step of faith that God always honors.  

Thank God today for the hardships in your life.  Tomorrow, we will see how He can turn these around for your good.

Thanksgiving Day Prayer

Oh, Heavenly Father,

We thank thee for food and remember the hungry.

We thank thee for health and remember the sick.

We thank thee for friends and remember the friendless.

We thank thee for freedom and remember the enslaved.

May these remembrances stir us to service,

That thy gifts to us may be used for others.

Amen

May the spirit of Thanksgiving be shared by one and all!
Have a Wonderful Thanksgiving,
and may God Bless you and yours.

P.S.Why not invite a friend who lives alone to share a Thanksgiving meal--
or better yet, call and say, I'm coming to get you
and I'll see that you get home safely.
Try it this Thanksgiving Day, and
God will surely Bless you...

- GIVE THANKS -  

He pulled the blanket over his head.
But, the cold came in through the holes.
He huddled under the overpass,
Oblivious to a world of lost souls.  

Thanksgiving was just days away.
Yet, there would be not feast for him;
No turkey and dressing, or fruit salad,
No eggnog to fill his cup to the rim.  

He once had a family of his own.
There was much to be thankful for.
But, one little accident took them away.
That day, his life would close another door.  

We give our thanks and eat our feast,
While he still huddles in the cold;
Looking for something to be thankful for.
Yet, he sits alone and he grows old.  

Remember, as Thanksgiving day draws near,
Give your thanks to God above.
For, while we're living in a homeless world,
We are still surrounded by God's love.

Thanksgiving Blessing

Lord, today I am so truly

thankful for so many things.

You have blessed me in so many ways.

I thank You for the wonderful country

I live in...and for all its many heroes.

I thank You Lord for my wonderful family

and friends. They are my greatest blessing.

Thank You Lord for the creatures you have put

on earth for us all. They teach us so much,

unconditional love, loyalty, and understanding.

I ask You Lord that all who suffer with illness

have this day free from pain.

Thank You Lord for all who have tables filled

with food and someone to share it with.

And for those that have no family or food,

Lord, I ask that You comfort them.

I thank You Lord for the time I had with my

loved ones that have gone on to be with You.

They shall always be loved and greatly missed.

Thank You Lord for allowing me to have love

and understanding in my heart.

It is these many blessings that make my

humble life happy and fulfilled.

Thank You Lord…..Amen

May your Thanksgiving
be blessed with love and peace.

A Thanksgiving Prayer

"O God,

When I have food,

help me to remember the hungry;

 

When I have work,

help me to remember the jobless;

 

When I have a home,

help me to remember those who have no home at all;

 

When I am without pain,

help me to remember those who suffer,

 

And remembering, help me to destroy my complacency;

bestir my compassion, and be concerned enough to help;

 

By word and deed, those who cry out

for what we take for granted.

Please God,  

Let us all Remember,
In the End of our Time

All that will have mattered in our lives
Is the Love we gave to the lives we touched!

FAMILY THANKSGIVING PRAYER
 

Dear precious Lord, we bow our heads
In heartfelt, thankful, prayer ~
For all the ways You’ve blessed our lives
And for Your loving care.

We thank You for the hands
That have prepared this special treat
And pray that You will bless all those
Who have no food to eat.

 

We’re thankful for Salvation’s plan
And for Your Holy Word,
And pray we’ll help to spread
Your love To those who’ve never heard.

 

We’re thankful for our freedom
And for churches that are near,
Where we can meet to praise Your Name
And worship without fear.

 

But still, our hearts are saddened
By our brothers who aren’t free,
Who suffer death and torture
For their Christianity.

 

We pray You’ll give them strength
And courage as their cross they bear,
And let them know God’s family
Remembers them in prayer.

 

We thank You for heroic troops
Who fight for liberty,
And daily risk their lives and limbs
To keep our country free.

 

Forgive us of our many sins
And keep us close, today,

What do we have to be thankful for?

- Every day you wake up - and you didn't wake up dead:
Thank GOD for another day on this earth to serve Him.

- Every day you wake up - and didn't wake up in Hell:
Thank GOD that He gave you another chance to make things right.

- Every breath you take - Every beat of your heart:
Thank GOD for your life - it is a gift from GOD.
